Welcome to the Language Arts Cyber Workspace!

     Throughout this site you will find websites for each student in Mrs. Dalton's 6th grade Language Arts class. The students are using this site as a place to record their experiences, respond to the current topics in class and as a space to revise and refine their writing. Each student will be updating their site on a weekly or bi-weekly basis based on the lessons in class. The goal of using this site is to allow the students the opportunity to experience the use of a cyber workspace to prepare them for similar learning experiences in high school, college and the work place.

Student Information

     Before posting messages to this site the students are to review the "Cyber Bullying" page. This site is for school purposes only and misuse of the site will be treated as a violation of the BCPS Telecommunications policy found in the Student Handbook that you signed in the beginning of the school year.

Parent/Guardian Information

     This site is designed for students to have access to an online collaboration site in a safe and secure environment. Students need to have exposure to online collaboration sites in order to be prepared for classes they will encounter in high school and college. Our hope is that this wiki will prepare students to engage in meaningful and thoughtful discussions and to learn from us as well as from their classmates. Keeping your children safe is our primary focus so be sure to check out the "Parent-Guardian Information" page for information on how you can assist us with this endeavor. Students are going to have to use the Internet to be competitive in todays world so it is our job to teach them how to use wiki's in safe and appropriate ways. The only people who have access to edit this site are Mrs. Dalton, Mr. Whitby and the students in the class.
